Heather's & Bodywork Expertise: Myokinesthetics (MYK) Swedish, Deep Tissue, Therapeutic
Heather earned her license after completing 1,000 hours of course study at The Universal College of Healing Arts in Omaha in 2017. She has her Bachelors of Science and became certified in Myokinesthetics (MYK) shortly after completion of massage therapy school. She is one of four MYK practitioners in the State of Nebraska. Before becoming a massage therapist, Heather worked at a health department for 10 years working primarily on childhood obesity reduction initiatives, so her passion to help others runs deep.
MYK is a type of bodywork that includes a full-body assessment to pinpoint the nerve which is causing the discomfort. The client then performs a series of movements specific to that nerve, while the muscles are stimulated by the practitioner. MYK sessions are helpful in alleviating symptoms associated with chronic pain, plantar fasciitis, and frozen shoulder.
